hello

Iā€™m Mikki Lee, a first generation Korean American freelance illustrator and designer based in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from Art Center College of Design majoring in Illustration/Entertainment Arts with an emphasis in background design for TV animation. Some definitive characteristics of my illustrations are graphic and high stylizations with lots of texture accented by patterns and colored lines. My inspirations are drawn from Art Deco and midcentury modern design, Art Nouveau, Viennese modernism, vintage fashion magazines, film noir, and Giallo. My deep appreciation for nature and Eyvind Earle is the reason I enjoy creating scenic illustrations.

My clients include The Folio Society, The Robb Report, Netflix, Ferroconcrete, Holy Mackerel Productions, Victo Ngai, and Skye Studios.
